How is this therapy different from Psychotherapy?
The Equine Gestalt method is non-diagnostic. It is an interactive experience where the horses are coaches too. The underlying strength is that the answers we seek are within each of us and we all possess the ability to heal and thrive. As coaches we assist in the healing process with curiosity, compassion and humor. It is a safe and sacred space to unravel the knots that are keeping you from feeling free. Free to be authentically you!
What do I wear?
Please wear some casual “play” clothes you won’t mind getting dirty. Depending on the time of year, weather can change quickly, so having layers on-hand is suggested. Closed-toed shoes are required, and boots are best.
Where is this done?
Typically this is done in a horse facility here in the Missoula area or up the Bitterroot. As we explore your specific needs we’ll decide on the location and the horse that is the best fit for your experience.
Do I need to have experience working with horses?
No horse experience is required. The horse isn’t ridden, it’s a coach! Our horses have been carefully selected to ensure the safety of our visitors. All initial sessions, workshops & events include an important safety review and demonstration.
Where does the EQUINE GESTALT COACHING METHOD® come from?

It is internationally known for the graduates of Equine Gestalt coaches and Equine Facilitation Providers. Developed over the last 35 years, this program started in 2006.
